Indian Railways to set up 3 GW solar plants

Opportunities in Solar Power - Indian Railways IR to set up 3 GW solar plants on its vacant land alongside rail tracks to ease it's 12 billion units of electricity requirement each year. 

Railway Energy Management Company Ltd. (REMCL) will tender, supervise and manage electricity supply as IR pushes it's bid to become "net zero" carbon emitter by 2030. At 125,000 km of the rail network, IR is the world's largest under single management.
