Italy’s Eni projects its oil and gas production to peak in 2025

Italy’s Eni pledged that it will reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 80 per cent by 2050. As a result of this, Eni projects that its oil and gas production will peak in 2025 and then plateau in favour of the climate pledge it has taken.

“We have designed a strategy that combines economic sustainability with environmental sustainability,” said chief executive Claudio Descalzi on Friday. “The result will be a portfolio that is more balanced and integrated and will be stronger for its adaptability.”
