Sanpellegrino - The Sparkling Fruit Beverage From Italy

Founded in 1899, Sanpellegrino has been going strong for over 120 years now and has carved a name for themselves by exporting excellence around the globe to become an international icon of taste and elegance.

The Sanpellegrino Company was founded in San Pellegrino Terme, Bergamo (Italy) and subsequently listed on the Milan Stock Exchange. Over the course of the following year (1900), 35,343 bottles of S.Pellegrino mineral water were produced, and 5,562 of these were shipped abroad. In 1906, the company commissioned the architect Romolo Squadrelli, during the Belle Époque, to build the magnificent Liberty-style building that became the place to be for worldwide royalty, ministers, diplomats and top figures from every field.

As far back as 1908, S.Pellegrino mineral water’s distribution network reached well beyond the European main cities, to Cairo, Kolkata, Shanghai, Brazil, the US, Peru and even Sydney.

It was in 1932, under the guidance of Ezio Granelli that SANPELLEGRINO ARANCIATA was launched in the market, the company being a firm believer of innovation, willingly embraced the concept of a new sparkling and refreshing product like Aranciata. In 1949, for the celebration of the Company’s 50th birthday, Aranciata Amara was launched and was soon followed by Limonata, Chinotto and other beverages, all part of the Sanpellegrino Sparkling Fruit Beverage range. In 1976, the all-aluminium can version of the Sanpellegrino Sparkling Fruit Beverages was first introduced to the public. 2001 saw the launch of Aranciata Rossa - the blood orange version of Aranciata - appeared on the shelf alongside the other Sanpellegrino Sparkling Fruit Beverages.

2010, was a landmark year for the company, that saw 1,000,000,000! (a billion) bottles of S.Pellegrino mineral water and Sanpellegrino Sparkling Fruit Beverages were sold all over the world in one year. In 2019, S.Pellegrino achieved another landmark and celebrated 120 years of iconic taste with the launch of the campaign Best Moments around the table and two very special limited edition bottles: a silver-lined 120 Year Anniversary label to add elegance to the best fine-dining moments and an exclusive glass bottle with diamond-cut rivets, homage to a precious symbol of resilience and eternity, the diamond.
